Learning Log for Week of March 21st - March 25th
My favorite thing this week was learning about the Sumerians and their awesome culture!
Homeroom:
This week I was working on my sewing skills. I am currently working on a Pioneer dress for my pioneer doll. I really enjoy sewing, and I am really excited to learn more skills in my class.
Math:
This week in math, I was working on Mixed numbers. They are really fun and easy to learn. My mom helps me a lot in math but this lesson she didn't know, so it was really fun for me to help teach her!
English/Language Arts:
This week in my Narnia class, I had a writing assignment on How to discern right from wrong, good from bad, and true from false. I wrote about the differnt things going on in the last Narnia book The Last Battle. The book is really exciting, and every time you finish a chapter, you HAVE to keep reading, because it is so good! But I am a little sad, because after I am done reading the book my class is over, but it will be nice to finish up and take a break!
Science:
This week in science we learned about owls. We were talking about the differnt things that owls eat, and what they can digest and, what they can't digest. It was cool learning about them. We also started growing crystals, they are really cool. We are checking and looking at them each day to do a study on them for fun.
History/Geography:
This week in History, we learned about the Sumerian culture. It was actually really interesting, we learned about how they lived, and like what they invented! They were the first people to invent the wheel, the plow, and irrigation! They even invented their one writing, they called it cuneiform. They were really cool people.
Tech:
I have been taking a lot of photo's of the outside now, because it has started to warm up. I love taking photo's of flowers, and blooming trees!
Choir:
I am working really hard on my solo on "When I grow Up" from the broadway play "Matilda." I also have a lot of other fun songs in my performance too! I am really excited.

Dance:
I am practicing my recital dance at home a lot now, because we are working really hard to clean the dance so it is ready for the recital. My costume is really pretty, I can't wait to try it on!
