Learning Log for Week of April 11th - April 15th
My favorite thing this week was writing my Narnia Poem.
Homeroom:
This week we watched video on Khan Academy. We have been studying Babylon and we watched videos on the Code of Hammurabi and got to see it in the Louvre as well as the Gates of Ishtar. I also worked on projects in sewing as well as worked on my girl scouts journeys.
Math:
This week in math I did Lesson # 18. It was on adding mixed numbers and fractions. Doing fractions is becoming a little easier with each lesson.
English/Language Arts:
This week in my Narnia class I had an assignment was what we learned in this class and how we will take this knowledge to make this world a better place. I wrote a poem:
When Lucy first discovered the door,
she didn’t know what she was asking for.
She discovered a world with amazing things.
She got so excited, it made her want to sing.
But when she returned home,
she found that while she was away.
Nothing had changed, it was still the same day.
No one believed her, as if it were just a silly game,
which made poor Lucy dear, almost want to disclaim.
But then one day, while during the night
Lucy, crept to the door holding a light.
But her brother, Edmund who followed her in.
Soon came to fear, the Evil lurking within.
He kept it a secret from everyone else.
But then had to regret, and tried to help.
The met the great lion,Aslan was his name.
He was very friendly, in fact it was hard to believe he wasn’t tame.
The battle was over they had won,
But came to the knowledge they were not done.
They returned to this land 2 more times,
for the 2 younger kids. But next time, for Susan
and Peter that was the last, for Aslan had forbid.
All of the children learned something great.
Which gave to them all amazing fate.
The story of Narnia, such a story of great bold.
To this day, still waiting to be told.
Science:
This week in science we studied more about biomes. We talked more specifically about desert and tundra. I like the tundra because it is really cold and I liked learning how the animals and plants adapt to survive int he cold so that we can take things of how to adapt in the cold.
History/Geography:
This week in History we talked more about Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar. We learned about he battles and war fought between the Assyrians and the Babylonians. We learned about one of the ancient wonders of the world, the hanging gardens.
Tech:
I turned in my angles and point of view. My subject was my brother Will. I noticed in one of the photos he is making a pose just like my dad.
Choir:
I am working really hard on my solo still. We are performing on May 10th. I love choir!!!
