Week #25

Learning Log for Week of March 7th - March 11th

My favorite thing this week was my prodigy math game.

Homeroom:

This week I studied on brain pop junior.  I also worked on Khan Academy.  I like watching the videos and taking the quizzes.

Math:

This week in Math I finished lesson #13 in Math U See. It was about reducing fractions by 2. I also really liked playing on my new prodigy math game.

English/Language Arts:

I am excited because we ordered a new spelling program called Spelling U See.  I am excited for it to come in and get started.  I am still reading my books for Leadership Education Academy. I am presenting my essay question next Monday on Aslan and I am nervous and excited! I have book club this week, which I am really excited about too!

Science:

This week in science we learned more about birds.  This week we talked about the birds wings and feathers.  I didn't know that birds feathers keep them more warm than fur can, this is why our clothes are made up of down feathers and not fur.  We went to a lake by our house and we got to look at the different birds and see their peaks and their feet to see how the different types help them in their habitat. We also got to pick up feathers and look at them and see their different parts.

History/Geography:

This week in Geography we are still working on our study of the Asian continent. We studied the political geography and talked about boundaries.  We talked about the physical boundaries like mountains and rivers and then we talked about the man made boundaries lines. Then we made a map of all the different countries on the Asian Continent.

Tech:

I am finishing up my projects my photography class.  I have editing the photos I took at Disney world.  My cousin, Dare, came to visit and he is 2 years old so I have been taking photos and using him and my other brothers as subjects to help with different settings.

Choir:

I am excited for our Spring Performance!  I am working on my solo "When I grow up."  It is going to be a fun spring show!

Dance:

We are working on our recital dance and finishing up learning all the dance moves.  I am excited to perform in June.  We were able to pick out our costumes.
